This museum is a living monument to those who lost their lives in past tsunamis. Tsunami translates as "harbor wave", referring to a series of waves traveling across the ocean with extremely long wavelengths. There are many exhibits and public programs that explains the tsunami phenomena, and gives some history of tsunamis in the Pacific Basin.
